This urban Bijar carpet takes its overall pattern from classic 17th century Persian carpets. A stiff vine lattice encloses a wide variety of colorful palmettes and floral fillers, all on a deep indigo ground. The red border of palmettes and stylized flowers discretely frames the well executed elaborate composition.
