The crisp red field of this antique Sultanabad carpet has three columns of vertically elongated palmettes and two columns of “hashang” type motives. Smaller rosettes of numerous designs add interest to this attractive overall pattern. The contrasting dark navy border has simple palmettes and curved leaves. and does not compete with field for attention.
