The taupe field of this carpet is dominated by a complex sixteen point medallion with palmette pendants, flanked by four vignettes of swaying trees growing from earthy plots. The whole effect is of a Persian classic book cover. An ivory border of arching vines punctuated by large rosettes is thoroughly Tabriz in style.
