The pale gold field of this rare antique square Senneh from Kurdistan displays the classic Persian bird and flower bouquet (gol-i-bulbul) pattern ultimately derived from 18th century silk textiles. The dark blue main border has an amusingly naive rendition of the “turtle” motif.
